Our story

One truck in 2004.
Never a subcontractor since.

Ironvale Roofing Co. has spent twenty-one prairie winters learning what actually fails on a Winnipeg roof — and building the assemblies that don't.

How we got here

Built one honest inspection at a time.

Ironvale started because Marcus kept getting called back to fix other people's roofs after two winters. Not because the shingles were cheap — because nobody had looked in the attic.

Twenty-one years later, the diagnostic habit is the whole company. Our estimators are Red Seal carpenters. Our claims lead used to work for the insurers. And every inspection still ends with an honest answer, including the one that costs us the job.

  1. 2004Marcus Ironside buys a used truck, a brake and a compressor. First season: nine roofs.
  2. 2009First in-house crew hired. The company stops subcontracting entirely — permanently.
  3. 2014Ventilation diagnostics added to every inspection after a winter of ice-dam callbacks across the city.
  4. 2019Standing-seam division opens with on-site roll forming for continuous panel runs.
  5. 20233,000th roof completed. Workmanship warranty extended from 25 to 30 years.
  6. 2026Four crews, one shop on Sherwin Road, and still no salespeople on the payroll.

What we hold to

Four rules we don't bend.

I

Diagnose before quoting

We will tell you when you don't need a roof. It costs us jobs and earns us the next fifteen years of your referrals.

II

Own crews, no brokers

Every person on your property is on our payroll, WCB-covered and trained on our own detailing standards.

III

Price it once

The number on the quote is the number on the invoice. New scope only ever moves it with your signature.

IV

Build for the worst week

Every assembly is specified for a −38 °C January and a 90 km/h hail line in July. Average conditions never break a roof.

The people

Whose hands are on your roof.

Fourth quote we collected and the only one where someone went into the attic. Turned out our ice dams were a bathroom fan venting into the insulation. Two winters later, nothing.
